Ready to learn how to make your new favorite avocado chocolate mousse? I can’t wait to show you how!

Ingredients
To make vegan avocado chocolate mousse, all you need is avocado, cocoa, sweetener, and some toppings. Here’s an overview of what I used to make the delish dessert:
Pomegranate juice and arils: I used these to add extra flavor and sweetness to the dessert. Bonus: Fruit doesn’t contain any added sugar.
Avocado: You’ll need the flesh of two ripe avocados for this recipe. They make the mousse extra creamy, without any cream!
Cocoa powder: Ta-dah! Here’s the key ingredient. Unsweetened cocoa powder makes mousse “chocolately,” doesn’t contain any added sugar, and is full of health-helping antioxidants.
Maple syrup: Just a little maple syrup adds natural sweetness.
Dark chocolate: Top off the chocolate mousse with a sprinkle of shaved dark chocolate!

Step-by-step instructions
Making vegan chocolate mousse is super easy and quick.
First, pour pomegranate juice into a blender jug.

Then, add avocado,

cocoa powder,

and maple syrup.

Close the lid securely, and blend.

Once the ingredients are blended, remove the blender lid and stir them well. Cover the blender and blend again until smooth.

Place the mousse into four bowls—this recipe makes four servings. Top with grated dark chocolate, pomegranate arils, and any other toppings that you’d like. For the best quality, serve vegan avocado chocolate mousse immediately. It’s as easy as that!

Recipe FAQ
This vegan chocolate mousse will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days. If you plan to store it, make sure to put it in the fridge immediately.
Yes, you can use frozen avocado to make chocolate mousse. However, it’ss a good idea to allow it to thaw before blending it with the rest of the ingredients. Otherwise, the mousse consistency and texture may be off.
The possibilities are endless! I used dark chocolate shavings and pomegranate arils, but other topping ideas include nuts, nut butter, berries, chia seeds, and crushed pretzels.
