Butterfinger: You can’t have a fancy Butterfinger drink without a Butterfinger!
Butterscotch chips and butterscotch schnapps: These ingredients amp up the butterscotch taste even more.
White chocolate chips: I love using white chocolate as a base for warm drinks.
Oat milk: This ingredient adds some plant-based protein to the drink.

Step-by-step instructions
The first step in making this butterscotch Schnapps drink is to rim the glass with chopped Butterfinger. All you have to do is dip a martini glass into milk and rotate it. Then, coat the outer edge of the glass with crushed candy. It’s that easy!
To make the Butterfinger martini, you have two options. One is the traditional stovetop method, and the other involves using one of my favorite kitchen tools, a countertop hot chocolate maker. I love the Capresso Froth Select.
Whichever option you choose for this Butterfinger drink, all you have to do is melt butterscotch chips and white chocolate chips, along with oat milk. Then, add Butterscotch schnapps and dark rum to your boozy winter drink!
The best part? You won’t even need to get your cocktail shaker or slow cooker out to make this wintery drink.

No, you don’t! To make a virgin Butterfinger martini, simply omit the rum and schnapps.
Yes, it is! Butterfingers are gluten free, and so are all the ingredients. Just make sure to purchase gluten-free oat milk. Oats may be grown or processed alongside wheat, which can lead to cross contamination.
Nope, you don’t! While a cocktail glass works best for this drink, you can also divvy it into smaller portions and use shot glasses.

Butterscotch Schnapps Butterfinger Drink
Ingredients
- 1 fun size Butterfinger, crushed
- 2 tbsp butterscotch chips
- 1 tbsp white chocolate chips
- 9 ounces oat milk (gluten free, if needed), divided*
- 1 ounce butterscotch schnapps
- 1 ounce dark rum
Instructions
Method 1 (Stovetop)
- Pour 1 ounce of oat milk onto a small rimmed plate.
- Dip a martini glass into milk, rotating it through the liquid so about a quarter inch of the rim is moistened.
- Place crushed Butterfinger on a separate small rimmed plate; coat the outer lip of the martini glass with the crushed candy. Repeat this process with a second martini glass; discard any flakes of candy that have fallen into the glasses.
- Place butterscotch and chocolate chips in a small bowl; set aside.
- In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, heat oat milk. Stir with a wooden spoon.
- Remove heated milk from stovetop, and add in chocolate and butterscotch chips. Mix until the chocolate is melted. Stir in alcohol. Then pour mixture into martini glasses, and enjoy!
Method 2 (Capresso Froth Select)
- Pour 1 ounce of oat milk onto a small rimmed plate.
- Dip a martini glass into milk, rotating it through the liquid so about a quarter inch of the rim is moistened.
- Place crushed Butterfinger on a separate small rimmed plate; coat the outer lip of the martini glass with the crushed candy. Repeat this process with a second martini glass; discard any flakes of candy that have fallen into the glasses.
- Place butterscotch and chocolate chips in a small bowl; set aside. Using the heating disk of the Capresso Froth Select Automatic Milk Frother, pour remaining oat milk, including remainder of milk on the plate, into the frothing pitcher; secure frother lid on top of pitcher. Turn the selector dial to the “CHOC” function; press the dial. Once the dial light begins to blink, remove frother lid and slowly add in butterscotch and chocolate chips.
- Replace lid; wait for the frother to automatically shut off.
- Pour alcohol directly into the frothing pitcher. Then pour mixture into martini glasses, and enjoy!
