Sweet Cherry Pita with Mascarpone
Ready for a deliciously decadent cherry pita? This healthy dessert is made with sweet mascarpone and contains no added sugar.
I don’t know about you, but I love cozy comfort food. And this cherry pita recipe is just that. You can have it as a dessert, snack or even breakfast.
This cherry pita snack is inspired by a vacation I took to Prague several years ago with my best friend Diana. We visited a tea house called Dobra Cajovna. In addition to tea, the restaurant serves different sweet and savory pita breads.

I’ve been thinking about how delicious the pita breads were. We ordered something that featured a combination of fruit and sweet cheese, so I set out to create a similar treat.
Now, let’s get into how to make this absolutely delicious cherry pita!

Ingredients
You’ll only need three ingredients to make these cherry pitas:
Whole-wheat pita bread: Really, you can use any type of pita bread. But going with whole wheat adds extra filling fiber to the recipe. Alternatively, you can opt for a gluten-free pita if needed.
Mascarpone: This is the most delicious sweet cheese. If you’re vegan or dairy free, you can blend together vegan cream cheese and soft tofu for a substitute.
Cherries: What would a cherry pita be without cherries? This recipe uses frozen cherries, but you could also opt for pitted fresh cherries that you heat over the stovetop.
