I always aim to prepare breakfasts that boast filling protein, healthy fats, and fiber. And this microwave oatmeal bowl does exactly that.

To make cherry oatmeal with almonds, you need just a few ingredients:

Cherries: This is the star of the oatmeal bowl! I use frozen cherries in this recipe so you can make it anytime of year. But you can totally use fresh––just make sure to pit them with a cherry pitter before adding to the oatmeal.

Instant oatmeal: Here’s the base for your oatmeal with cherries. Oatmeal boasts fiber, which is super satiating.

Almonds, flax seeds, and chia seeds: These nuts and seeds provide a trio of protein, healthy fat, and fiber.

Cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice: I love using these to naturally sweeten this this oatmeal breakfast. This recipe contains absolutely no added sugar!

Step-by-step instructions

To make this cherry oatmeal bowl, first microwave the frozen cherries for about 2 minutes. Set them aside.

Then microwave ‪‎the oatmeal with water for about 2-3 minutes. Remove from microwave.
